[시사뷰타임즈] 스티비어 (또는 스테비어) 는 해바라기 과, 스티비어 속 식물 종의 나뭇잎에서 파생된 천연 감미료이자 설탕 대체물이며 브러질 (브라질) 과 패러과이 (파라구아이) 가 원산이다.
똑같은 양의 설탕 보다 몇 배나 더 단 감미료이며 해바라기 과 스티비어 속 (Stevia rebaudiana) 에서 추출되는데, 일부의 경우에 설탕을 대체할 수도 있다.
